Le Panda Vampire

Le Panda Vampire from Chohnny Sousa on Vimeo.

This video is inspired by Jean Painleve's, Le Vampire. The music I used is credited to The Beatles, with their song Eleanor Rigby. In Painleve's original video from the late 1930's and early 1940's, there is footage of animals and unexpectedly there is a vampire scene which then leads to a bat with animals for the remainder of the video. I was really intrigued and enthused at the idea of an unexpected character being added to the footage. In response I added my own surprises as far as audio and video are and tried to emulate Painleve's work.

Back in Time, RENO

This piece was inspired by Joseph Cornell's Bookstalls. Instead of a boy dreaming of far away places, you look back into the old photographs of what Reno used to be. There is more history here in Reno than is given credit for. The construction references are to symbolize the constant change around us, even though we may not notice time is going by. This piece is meant to take you back in time to when things were much more simple and very different. Thanks to my Grammy there is a real perspective on what used to be in contrast to what we now live in.
